A Great Beginner’s Computer System: HP Pavilion p6720f Desktop PC

As people think about purchasing a computer system, many want their computer to do certain things well. They may want to watch shows online, surf the net, play games or simply a place to save their digital images. Maybe a nice computer system to start with is something like the HP Pavilion p6720f Desktop PC This HP computer comes with a big hard drive and a great deal of RAM but it doesn’t have a powerful graphics card instead it is shared with the processor. This PC is meant for the price conscious new PC users and not those wanting a powerful gaming machine. There won’t be much video gaming, but that will allow you to focus on your computer time.

This computer from HP is priced at just $600 but comes with AMDs 2.9GHz Phenom ll 840T quad-core central processing unit, 6GB of RAM and a 1TB hard drive. Additionally, this computer from HP comes with the ATI Radeon HD 4200 integrated graphics, a DVD burner and 802.11n wireless card.

The PC tower features a plain, standard black chassis, but the front is made of glossy black plastic. There is an additional bay underneath the DVD panel if you plan to add another hard drive or perhaps a Blu-Ray player. The width of the computer is approximately seven inches with the power button located at the top for quick access. Naturally, the HP Pavilion p6720f Desktop PC comes with your basic keyboard and mouse. Unlike many new PCs, you won’t find a lot of software bundled with it. The is bundled with some software demos and the excellent HP MediaSmart video and music playback suite.

There are several useful ports found on the front, with a multi-format card reader bay being one of them. The PC also comes with microphone and headphone jacks and two USB 2.0 ports in the front. Since the HP Pavilion p6720f Desktop PC is a budget computer system, and not for multimedia, some things are missing. In the rear of the computer, it has DVI and VGA ports, a digital audio (S/PDIF) port and four USB 2.0 ports. Additionally, tt has 7.1 surround sound. If you are looking for a bit of room for expansion, you will be frustrated. The internals are not arranged well, with wires all clustered in the middle of the case. Theres not a great deal you can do if you would like to load it up with faster PC cards. However, you can install a a more advanced graphics card if you want.

As a gaming PC, the HP Pavilion p6720f is not the right choice or even a PC to even consider. The integrated graphics chip was just not made to deal with high end graphics. These budget PCs was not meant for computer gaming. The Micro Express MicroFlex 25B, which will cost you a few hundred dollars more, will be a much better option for your digital entertainment. No Matter its graphic shortcomings, the Pavilion p6720f is a terrific deal, with a good processor, generous hard drive and lots of RAM for a low price. This computer for sure met my everyday computing needs. This HP computer is so easy to use, really fast and it didnt hurt my pocketbook.
